About Me

Christos Tachtatzis is a Professor of Applied Artificial Intelligence in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, where he leads the Measurement, Digital, and Enabling Technologies (MDET) strategic theme. His research specialises in computer and machine vision, remote sensing, hyperspectral imaging, and precision farming for both arable and livestock applications.


Professor Tachtatzis is the Strathclyde Principal Investigator for the UKRI AI Centre for Doctoral Training in Sustainable Understandable agri-food Systems Transformed by Artificial Intelligence (SUSTAIN) and serves as Co-Director of the Laboratory for Innovation in Autism. He was a co-founder of an AI-driven cyber deception spin-out and is a member of the Specialist Advisory Group on AI applications for environment, natural resources, and agriculture policy, advising the Scottish Government. Previously, he served as a Chancellor’s Fellow in Artificial Intelligence for Industrial Informatics at Strathclyde.
