About Me

Dr Aiden Durrant is a Lecturer in Computing Science at the University of Aberdeen in the Machine Learning Group. Externally, he is the Deputy Director of the SICSA Graduate Academy assisting with the coordination of research training and activities across all 14 Scottish Computer Science departments.


Dr Aiden Durrant’s research lies in the core theory of Machine Learning, studying how to learn high-quality image representations and importantly how to structure such representations so that they are useful for a variety of tasks. Specifically, his focus is on how leverage data without human annotations, and how to leverage the underlying geometric structure of knowledge as to best preserve information.
