About Me
Louise Manning, Professor of Sustainable Agri-food Systems is an academic, writer, communicator, and educator. Louise is passionate about food and farming and how they support communities all around the world and helping them to thrive. She has had over 140 papers published in peer-reviewed journals, and has written and published many books for a range of audiences.
Louise's research focuses on critical issues in society, food and farming including sustainability, resilience, values, integrity and trust. Working with collaborators around the world, their work is world leading, pushing the boundaries of knowledge, and also in the use of innovative and emergent research techniques to explore voices and evidence not always captured in the scientific literature.
Louise works with academics, communities, industry and policy makers to develop new thinking and policy, addressing the challenges of today and the future. Louise works with early career researchers, PhD and Masters students and undergraduate students to develop both themselves, and their areas of interest. Louise is often asked to give guest lectures, keynote presentations, webinars and seminars around the world.
Research Interests
Sustainability, resilience, food security, food safety, risk and vulnerability assessment, crime and mendacious behaviour in corporate culture, organisational culture, transparency and trust, integrity (product, process, data and people), values and value.
